baby evalyn

Friday, August 27, 2010

I made this tiny quilt for my niece, Evalyn, who was born in July. I promised my sister a quilt for her daughter... but based of my lack of time these days, I didn’t promise anything stunning.  I secretly bought the fabric that was purchased to decorate Eva’s nursery... it was fun to work with fabric that I knew would be a winner. I can’t wait to meet Eva in September!

it’s a boy!

Friday, August 6, 2010

This is my baby boy, Jackson! He was born on May 17, and he is absolutely wonderful. I’m learning the routine as a new mom, and wonder if I’ll ever have time to sew again?  Obviously, my craft projects are taking a back seat for a while... meanwhile, I’m loving on this little guy.

baby joselyn

Saturday, April 30, 2010

Tis the season! So many friends are having babies this month!  I’m so excited that baby Joselyn has arrived, and she is beautiful and healthy!  This pinwheel quilt is for her, and I hope she likes it... and hopes she takes it to college with her. Just kidding.

nursery

Sunday, April 11, 2010

Well, I made the first thing for the nursery!  Not knowing if we’re having a boy or a girl has kept me out of the sewing room - I’m sure I would try and sew everything myself for the nursery if we new the gender. I found this adorable owl fabric and lined a storage bin... seemed like a safe thing to make for either a boy or girl. Only 5 more weeks til we know!

easter bunnies

Sunday, April 4, 2010

I found this free pattern for finger puppets over here at the Purl Bee. The bunnies are only about 4 inches tall, so they were really easy to make. And I already had all the supplies... so it made for a quick craft.

One of my best friends is pregnant with twin girls! I wanted to make matching (but not identical) blankets for the babies. I really like how they turned out, and its nice to have them done before they arrive. Betsy, I can’t wait to meet them!

dresden plate quilt

Friday, February 26, 2010

I am so happy this quilt is done! I’ve been slowly working on it for months, and it was way more challenging than I anticipated. I’ve never made a queen size quilt before, and the pattern I chose was a bit complicated. But its done, and I’m pleased with it. AND, I’m keeping this one!  Ethan always teases me that every craft project I make leaves our house as a gift, so I promised him someday I would make a quilt for us to keep. I’ve had a bit of a deadline to follow through on that promise... We are expecting our first baby in May, and I knew this was a now-or-never project. I guess I will fondly remember making this quilt a wobbly pregnant lady in the winter of 2010.

birthday crown

Saturday, January 30, 2010

Happy first Birthday to Noah!  Here’s a fleece and felt birthday crown that I made for his big day.  I hope he has a great celebration as the king!  (And then I made one for my nephew’s 2nd Birthday... Happy Birthday, Soren!)
